OBJECTIVES   

1)     To review the basic definitions, characteristics, and purposes of apocalyptic literature

2)     For all the students to get a basic overview of the content, imagery, and style of the OT Book of Daniel.

3)     For you to begin thinking about the original purpose and overall message of this piece of ancient literature.

4)     For me to get a response of the quality of reading the book of Daniel and Understanding the Apocalypse.

 

  • The class meets for 54 periods, each of 50 minutes duration. (This timing is only applicable during regular semesters)

 DESCRIPTION

  1. To familiarize with the Book of Daniel.
  2. To become more familiar with some of the standard Secondary Literature (Bible Dictionaries and Commentaries)
  3. To analyze the impact of the Prophecies and its relevance for today.
  4. To study the essential facts concerning the messages to Daniel including a brief evaluation of Prophecy and Prophets.
  5. To analyze the eternal principles of truth as observed in the Book of Daniel, (Dan 12:11-13) as the readers are admonished to be vigilant and wait in the end of days.

COURSE PORTION

The semester/Summer material covers material from the Tale of Two Cities to the Book of Daniel Is Unsealed and open.

 METHOD

The study of the Book of Daniel will begin with examining the principles involved in the great struggle between good and evil. Secondly the next half of the Book of Daniel, and will also look at the prophecies, its interpretations and examine the parallels in Daniel 2,7&8 concluding with the rest of repeat and expand principle in the following prophecies.

 ASSIGNMENTS

1. Write in detail about the time of the Birth of Jesus Christ explaining AD/BC

 And

2. Prepare an outline/Chart of the 2300 days prophecy and present in your own words from the resource Material at the E.G White Center (SMC-Library) and which will be of great help in this assignment.

 

  • Assignments should be submitted after 20 class lecture periods from the date of the commencement of the course.

 Total Marks of 100 will be divided in this manner
