OBJECTIVES
1) To review the basic definitions, characteristics, and purposes of apocalyptic literature
2) For all the students to get a basic overview of the content, imagery, and style of the NT Book
of Revelation.
3) For you to begin thinking about the original purpose and overall message of this piece of ancient
literature.
4) For me to get a response of the quality of reading the book of Revelation and Understanding the
Apocalypse.
DESCRIPTION
- To familiarize
with the Book of Revelation.
- To become more
familiar with some of the standard Secondary Literature (Bible Dictionaries and Commentaries)
- To analyze
the impact of the Prophecies and its relevance for today.
- To study the
essential facts concerning the messages to the seven Churches including a brief evaluation of Christ of the Churches.
- To analyze
the eternal principles of truth as observed in the Book of Revelation, (Rev 22:6-21) as the readers are warned not to change
the words of this Book.
COURSE PORTION
The semester/Summer
material covers material of Christ’s Revelation to John until the New Jerusalem’s Description and the Conclusion.
METHOD
The study of the Book
of Revelation will follow a sequential order with an Introduction, Five -Sequences, With New Jerusalem and Conclusion.
ASSIGNMENTS
1. Draw a map with a
Geography of Revelation and mark in the following provinces and towns: All Seven Churches, Hierapolis, Colossae, Patmos and
Crete.
And
2. Prepare an outline
and present in your own words from and one of Revelation’s Four Perspectives of History. Refer to the Handout given
to you by the Teacher – “Adrian Ebens” 1998, which will be of great help in this assignment.
